Head into Kaesora Library and kill zone trash until one of them turns in "a dark sentry" on death, kill it and loot the thin notebook. Give the notebook to Gorenaire then kill mobs just outside Kurn's Tower until a Imperial Ring of Office drops (ring can be prelooted). Right click the ring to update the task, then back to the Library and kill a librarian until you get a Dark Notation to drop. Lastly give the Notebook and Notation to Gorenaire to complete the task.
