Alaran Language
The Alaran language is used as a form of progression. Not only will it allow you to understand the Alarans with greater ease but some tasks and missions require certain skill levels to request, you need 71 to purchase class specific aa, and you need certain levels to buy the components to make tier 3 and tier 4 visible armor. You start with a skill of 0 and gain ability by completing tasks and missions throughout the expansion. Unlike other languages, Alaran can not be learned via group chat or tells, but only completing tasks and missions.
The majority of the skill comes from Argath or from Valley of Lunanyn. The first five kill tasks you do (regardless of zone) will raise your skill by 2 each. The first three partisan tasks completed from this list are worth 5 points each:
- This Is Argath!
- Shoring Up Defenses
- Protect the Arms
- Raid and Recover
- The Assassination Game
- Uncharted Territory
- The Riddle of Steel
- Breaking Ballistae
- Critical Mass
- The Enemy of My Enemy
- The Memory Remains
- Filthy Oashim
To start quests in tier 2 you'll need the full 70 skill. Finishing your first partisan task or mission in Sarith City is worth 1, having 4 partisan or missions is worth 3, and finishing all 8 in the zone is 5. So if you have both tier 1 and tier 2 done your total will be 75.
To start quests in tier 3 you'll need 73 skill. Rubak Oseka and Beasts' Domain each grant 1 point for finishing your first partisan task in the zone, 2 at the midpoint, and 3 for finishing them all. Resplendant Temple is the same but gives 4 for finishing the zone. All total tier 3 is worth 10 points bringing you to 85 skill if you've done everything.
To start quests in tier 4 zones you'll need 81 skill (88 for Sepulcher). City of Bronze grants 1 point for doing your first partisan task or mission in the zone, 2 at the midpoint, and 3 for finishing them all. Pillars of Alra, Windsong, and Sepulcher are the same but 4 instead of 3 for finishing the zone. All total tier 4 is worth 15 points, bringing you to 100 skill for finishing all tasks and missions in the expansion.
Many tasks and missions will give a book upon completion. These are just for lore and don't need to be saved, but clicking any of them will increase your skill to the proper level.
