Stoneroot Falls

Overview

Stoneroot Falls is a large zone with a variety of denizens. There are the Shadowmane dens to the west, the Deep Orc camps scattered around, basilisks roaming among the pillars (beware of the zones raid boss, Grokui, among the basilisk), and a city of drachnids leading onward to the Hive. There are 16 rares here, targeted to players from the upper 50s all the way to 70. There are 4 zonewide rare drops:

Captain Klegor

Drillak the Slayer
PH is a static drachnid. Seems it can spawn in two different forms. The first form is pure melee, hits 1800, enrages. The other form hits less, sees invis, doesn't enrage, but casts:
  • Woven Ire - a 1300 dd, 1000 dot, and does 2500 dd and root on fade.
It, and the placeholder, drops Cicero's Torn Notebook. This can be turned in to Brovil Pallivineg's clockwork to get quest text for the level 69 spell missions, but is not required.

Events and Raids

Grokui, the Slumbering Basilisk

Grokui is rooted in place on his little island and, reportedly, does not summon. He is rather resistant to spells, hits for just over 3k, and casts 3 spells:

At 80%, 60%, 40%, 20%, and 10% Grokui will heal himself to full, so be prepared for a protracted fight.

Has a 3 day respawn when killed. Drops 2 spells (69s and 70s) and one of the following:

Quests and Missions

Briznek's Tasks

Quest giver: Researcher Briznek
Requirements: none
Reward: A bit of xp and 50-80pp, maybe a heal potion

Researcher Briznek offers 5 tasks. Tell him "I am willing to help you" then select the task dialog that matches

Basilisks
For this task you'll first need to get close to where Grokui, the Slumbering Basilisk spawns (around 260, -1160). After that kill 25 basilisks and loot 4 Cracked Basilisk Tails and return them for your small cash reward.
Shiliskins
For this task you'll need to kill 45 (is this accurate??) of the "a Xillsfar xyz" shiliskin around the zone and loot 4 Damaged Shiliskin Bone Chips and return them for your small cash reward.
Snakes
For this task you'll first need to get on top of a specific pillar (around -650, -1400). After that kill 20 "a female Darkhollow redback" and loot 4 Medium Quality Snake Skin and return them for your small cash reward. These snakes also drop Stone Snake Shedding for Epicthieck's Edification Edition.
Witherans
For this task you'll need to kill 30 witherans in Undershore and loot 4 Aged Witheran Glands and return them for your small cash reward.
The Search for Savil
For this task you need to run all around Stoneroot triggering updates. Each update will give you a page and the final update also gives a 10-slot book. Combine the pages inside and turn in it for your cash reward and Assistant Savil's Collected Field Book. The book seems to have no use beyond lore. I do not have locs for the updates.
