Fear Itself

Overview

The final zone of Tier 3 is the same base layout as the original Plane of Fear. With 28 rares spread around the zone and a ton of various mobs it can support a lot of groups. In addition to the rares there are 5 zonewide random drops:

Rare Mobs

Ancient Dracoliche
PH is "a shadowed xyz". Hits for up to 12000 and casts:

Argendev
PH is "an amygdalan guard". Hits for up to 12000, spawns a skeleton per player every 30 seconds, and casts:
  • Curse of Thule - PBAE AC debuff which also increases spell damage taken. 50 curse counters.

Decrepit Warder
PH is "a delirious samhain". Hits for up to 12000 and casts:

Giant Phoboplasm
PH is "a curious phoboplasm". Hits for up to 12000 and casts:

Corpse Camped
Quest giver: Arki Battlehammer

Simply kill 4 each of the amygdalan knights and warriors, commonly found near any structure, then return to Arki to complete the task.

Pushing Onward
Quest giver: Arki Battlehammer
Phrase: help
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

Simply kill 5 fetid fiends then return to Arki to complete the task.

The Antidote Within
Quest giver: Rashan Spiritweaver
Phrase: retrieve some
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

Kill at least 4 spinechiller spiders, mostly found in the northeast areas, and loot 4 of the Spinechiller Venom. These drop around 2/3 of the time and can't be prelooted. Give the venom to Rashan to complete the task.

The Fear of Death
Quest giver: Morae Windwatcher
Phrase: slay them
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

For this you need to kill 4 each of the boogeymen, samhain, and phantasms found in packs all over. Return to Morae when they are dead to complete the task.

Overwhelming Odds
Quest giver: Morae Windwatcher
Phrase: wipe them out
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

Kill 5 gorgons, in the northwest, 3 thought bleeders, all over east half of zone, and 3 nightmares, found on south side. Return to Morae when they are dead to complete the task.

Encroaching Undeath
Quest giver: Hildran Heartguard
Phrase: do it
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

Kill 3 each of worry wraiths and turmoil toads, found all around the zone. Return to Hildran when they are dead to complete the task.

Frozen in Fear
Quest giver: Hildran Heartguard
Phrase: take care of them
Reward: +5 Dream Delvers faction.

Kill 4 frightfingers, found around the structure on west side and the fire ring area, and 3 scarelings, found in pockets all around the zone. Return to Hildran to complete the task.

Partisan Tasks

Bite of the Beast
Quest giver: Marza D`Vour
Requirement: none
Phrase: help
Reward: 20 Dream Motes, 210p, +10 Dream Delvers faction

After getting the task you need to hail Alezra D`Vour, back to Marza, then back to Alezra and she gives you a Wolf Tagging Device. Invis to the southeast area to find wolves, target them and click the device (doesn't break invis). Repeat for 3 then give the device back to Alezra. Next up is collecting 4 groundspawn Docilla Leaves, look like plants in blood pools in the northeast section of the zone. You'll also need a Spinechiller Ichor from spiders, around 2/3 drop rate and can't be prelooted. Give the leaves and ichor to Alezra and get a Beast of Fear Leash. Invis up and find a decaying corpse. With one targeted click your leash (doesn't break invis) and a beast will eat it. You need to do this for 3 corpses, respawn is a few minutes. Finally give the leash to Alezra to complete the task.

Follower of Fear
Quest giver: Alezra D`Vour
Requirement: Bite of the Beast
Phrase: trials
Reward: 15 Dream Motes, 158, +10 Dream Delvers faction

For this task you first need to kill 3 npcs:

The three are no harder than zone trash, just immune to mez. Return to Alezra and now she asks for 3 things, all prelootable: Clump of Diseased Flesh from a boogeyman, Ruptured Tear Duct from glare lords, and Nightmare Blood from nightmares. These can be rather rare, around 1 in 10 each. When you give all the items to Alezra she directs you to the temple inside the fire ring. You'll find a trapped dreamer at various deadends. Hail them and say 'help' to update the task and they despawn, roughly 20 minute respawn. If doing for multiple people, all say help before it despawns to get updates. After hailing two return to Alezra to complete the task.

At the Altar of Fear
Quest giver: Alezra D`Vour
Requirement: Bite of the Beast and Follower of Fear
Phrase: ready
Reward: 15 Dream Motes, 158, +10 Dream Delvers faction

Start off the task by killing 6 fetid fiends, 2 shiverbacks, and 2 phoboplasms and looting 4 skeletal remains, roughly a 50% drop rate off all of those three types, can't be prelooted. Give the remains to Alezra, hail her, and she gives you Cursed Skeletal Remains. Now head to the temple and on the bottom floor, (795, 410), is a pool of blood. Stand in it until your task updates. Then go to the top floor using the western entrance to the temple and locate the altar (853, 337). While standing on/near the altar right click the Cursed Remains for the update (doesn't break invis). Lastly visit Tiseth the Thrall on the top of the temmple to complete the task.

Foundation of Fear
Quest giver: Reena Kedson
Requirement: none
Phrase: fight
Reward: 20 Dream Motes, 210p, +10 Dream Delvers faction

After getting the task you need to hail Sherri and Jaris inside the temple. You'll need to collect a few ground spawns next (860, 410, 115), (830, 520, 35), (690, 355, 50) for Sherri's gear and (700, 470, 50) for Jaris' book. They respawn quickly and you can get the same piece of equipment 3 times for Sherri if you want. Turn these in then hail Reena outside. Now head to the bottom floor to locate Sharuleth, he hits for 7500 and comes with two guards. Return to Reena once more to complete the task.

Terror Personified
Quest giver: Reena Kedson
Requirement: Foundation of Fear
Phrase: artifact
Reward: 20 Dream Motes, 210p, +10 Dream Delvers faction

Start the task again by hailing Sherri and Jaris. Then kill 3 each of the amygdalan knights and warriors that are all over the temple before going to the top to hail Tiseth twice to get a shard. Back to the very bottom of the temple to find Shade of Cazic Thule. It hits for 7500 with no special abilities, rather anti-climatic. Kill it (respawn is under 2 minutes) and return to Reena. Give her the shard to complete the task.
