Frostcrypt Progression
Overview
Progression towards Frostcrypt hinges on two things, gaining faction and getting raid flags. There are 2 factions of interest:- Wraithguard - This covers the rank and file giants on the south side of Valdeholm. It is NOT required to go on raids.
- Wraithguard Leadership - This covers the leaders of Valdeholm and is required for all Frostcrypt raids.
In addition to the faction requirements you will need to defeat Kangur Vafta Veor to request Udengar and then Odeen. The flag from Odeen (along with Udengar, Kangur, and Fergarin's arc) is needed to request and join the Frostcrypt 1 raid raids. Both Hearol and Griswald drop a number of Odeen backflags. Both Hearol and Griswald flags are required to request and join the Frostcrypt 2 raid, which drop backflags for Hearol and Griswald.
See the sections on the left for more details on gaining faction and steps to request each raid step.
Wraithguard
The Wraithguard faction might be needed to request some tasks, but ultimately it isn't all that important. Killing trash in Frostcrypt (static and raids) gives you +2 each. Every quest you do for Wraithguard Leadership also yields a bigger bonus to Wraithguard so you'll reach ally without having to focus on doing so.
Wraithguard Leadership
Wraithguard Leadership is the main requirement. You start at -200 and need 1100 for raids. Killing rare mobs in Frostcrypt *can* give a faction hit, but it doesn't seem to be consistant. Your main path is completing tasks in Valdeholm.
Task Name | Requirement | Faction gain |
---|---|---|
Ancient Tomes | Dubious (-200) | +50 |
Armor Suppplies | Dubious (-200) | +50 |

Incursion | High Dubious (-150) | +300 |
Lodigar the Recruiter | Apprehensive (-100) | +250 |

Orcish Dissention | Apprehensive (-100) | +200 |

Warning Signs | Apprehensive (-100) | +200 |
Shade's Bane | Amiable (+100) | unknown |
Shade Bounty | Kindly (+500) | +300 |
Weapons Acquistion | Kindly (+500) | +300 |
Intercepted Correspondence | Ally (+1100) | +50 to group |

In addition to the tasks in Valdeholm there are 5 versions of the Return stuff to the Wraithguard tasks from random spawns in Frostcrypt which give +50 each.
Valdeholm
Raid progression for Frostcrypt begins in Valdeholm. Whoever intends to request the raids will start by getting to Ally faction with Wraithguard Leadership. Give 3 Mark of Rallos Zek to Wraithguard Heimgul (no task required, one time payment) to have access to Fergarin. With a group complete his three tasks: Intercepted Correspondence, Lost Letter, Confession. At this point you can request the 24 man raid instance Kill Kangur. The flag from Kangur (along with all the other steps) unlocks Udengar the Traitor. The flag from him unlocks Speak to the King culminating in a showdown with King Odeen. None of these raids have requirements to join, only to request.
Frostcrypt
After completing the Valdeholm raids you're ready to start the Frostcrypt raids. With the Odeen flag (and all pre-reqs) you can request The First Frostcrypt raid and face Hearol and Griswald. To be flagged to join the raid you must be Ally to Wraithguard Leadership, have the Odeen, Undegar, and Kangur flags, and Fergarin's Arc, but 85/15 rules apply. Killing events (including all 4 mini targets) give a bonus to Leadership faction and Hearol and Griswald drop 3 Odeen backflags each.
If you have flags from both Hearol and Griswald and Ally faction you can request The Second Frostcrypt raid. To be flagged to join the raid you need Ally and Hearol/Griswald flags, but each event in the instance yields one backflag and a bonus to Leadership faction.
